They say 'Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart'. You make a living by what you get, You make a life by what give. I had the pleasure of Spending my full Spring Break week in the infamous Windy City, Chicago, IL. With a cater towards youth development I volunteered at 826CHI, a non-profit writing, tutoring, and publishing center dedicated to amplifying the voices of Chicago's students from ages 6-18. I am eternally grateful to have been given this opportunity through Florida International University's 'Alternative Breaks' Program. More importantly, I'm glad I could assist in warming the hearts of the young and the old, while inspiring them to find their voices. Special thanks to my two amazing site leaders and team for making the experience even more rewarding! 826CHI I'll forever hold you dear to my heart.
