As many of you may or may not know I recently started my very first semester in college. Originally I anticipated on going to school up state but found out that I did not get accepted into the college that I wanted to attend. For some reason I wasn't as upset as I thought I would be, but I was willing to move forward with the options that I did have in front of me. I ended making the decision to attend my local community college for my first two years then transfer to a University. Fortunately enough I was able to get accepted into an amazing Business program called 'Year Up'.
Year Up is a leading one-year career development program with 250 corporate partners around the country; the program includes college-level courses, professional training, and a six-month internship
Over the past couple of months I can honestly say I've grown as an young individual spiritually, physically and even professionally. I've managed to push myself beyond my limits and I've grown to understand that the challenges I face are what contribute to my growth. I had hardworking professors behind me who were committed to making the best out of my first year college experience as long as I put in effort. After long weeks I've successfully completed my first semester off with all A's in my classes, a 4.0 GPA, and I even earned myself an Internship with JP Morgan chase.
Before August I had no idea that my first experience with college would turn out this way but because I had a growth mindset and I was willing to allow my faith steer me instead of my fears I was rewarded with more. Sometimes we think we need things & God says so otherwise. I'm learning to never put a question mark where he put a period, but instead Trust the Process!
