The bridge between goals and accomplishments

30 DAY DISCIPLINE CHALLENGE

I came up with the idea to start a 30 Day challenge that consists of intense self-discipline. I am extremely huge on manifesting my reality through faith and consistent work therefore I want to challenge myself to be intentional with every affirmation that I put into the air... so this is me putting it to the test.

I read a book by John C. Maxwell and he stated a quote:

"Be intentional in how you live your life. Act with purpose. Take inventory, use forethought, and planning. Set goals. Do whatever you can to help yourself, to empower yourself, and to look after yourself. The more detailed your daily action plan, the higher your chance of success. Take the time to define your goals. Don't forget to attach a timeline and deadlines. Everything you do or don't do will bring you somewhere, make sure that it is in congruence with where you want to go and who you want to be. Act in your best interest. The more power you give yourself the more power you will have with which to help others."

I challenge you as a reader and myself as the writer to practice intense self disciple..

Ground Rules:

  1. Create a list of at least 15 habits that you struggle with on a daily and/or weekly basis (Ex. procrastination, spending time on social media, bad sleeping/eating habits, exercise, etc.)
  2. Create a list of at least 15 things you will commit to every day, for the next 30 days (Ex. No procrastination, limit myself to 3 hours of social media a day, go on a low carb diet, sleep no later that 10PM, etc.)
  3. Adopt a 'do it now' mentality with everything you seek to accomplish within the next 30 days
  4. Put out daily affirmations the second you wake up & repeat them throughout your day
  5. Revisit your goals and progress daily from the moment you wake up/go to sleep
  6. Find someone to hold you accountable for getting rid of old habits and reaching new ones
Feel free to add your own set of rules.
*I will be updating my process*

UPDATE* 30 Days of Discipline was definitely a big challenge for me.
For a person who is constantly doing so much its almost impossible to be consistent on something directly. Some of my goals consisted of sleeping earlier at night, spending a limited amount of time on social media, read for at least 30 minutes a day, deep breathe daily, detox and exercise, pray often, write daily, be selfless one day out the week, less complaints etc.

To begin, I technically didn't successfully complete this challenge because half the goals I put on my list, I was not consistent with it. One thing I made sure of was to write daily.. this is what made my whole challenge an eye opening experience. I realized I was so aware of my emotions throughout the 30 days and no matter what I disciplined myself to keep pushing forward and make no complaints. I also deep breathed on a daily basis.. during that period of time I found myself being extremely anxious and worrisome, more than I had ever been in my life. I prayed so much throughout my days and in the end I was happy with where I left off. I'm now into a new space and I make sure to be aware of how things make me feel. I monitor how much time I spend catering to things that don't necessarily benefit me, and I got into the habit of reading with the free time I do have. I make sure to rid myself of as much negativity as possible and I choose to make light of the simple pleasures I do have. Hope your 30 Day challenge was a success ;)
